And today is her birthday. She is the wonderful 26.
And in honor of her, I thought I would post some photos of her and our random adventures together. Though these don't even scratch the surface. Hopefully I don't embarrass her, but I don't think that's possible. I feel like I've known her forever, but I haven't even known her for 2 years yet. We had a friend over at our house recently and he took note that in over half our photos, we are making rather odd, nutty faces for the camera. I suppose that sums up our time together. Our friendship. And the fun we have.
Best turkey burger and sweet potato fries I think we've ever had.
we climb mountains...
we crossfit together in our garage...
She's kind of buff too. Ask to touch her arm. If you feel awkward, I'll ask for you.
Yes, Tany stand right there and look really bad-a** with that bandana and that backpack.
She can push press me. Yes, I just said that.
she's a really fun dancer. and good too. i sweat just watching her. and i try to keep up. she teaches me moves. moves not approriate to mention here. no, you can't come over and dance with us. unless you're a girl.
But all our goofiness aside, I love her like a sister. She is my sister. And one of my dearest and best friends. It is unmistakable that our love for our Father is what bonds us. I have had more lovely, heaven-filled mornings sitting at Kean coffee shop, journaling and reading in the Bible with this little gem over anyone else. She's a baker, a cook, a personal trainer, a worker, a dreamer, an encourager, and a warrior.
She has a heart that words can't articulate. She is a servant, a lover of people, of broken hearts, and the down & out. She'll stop her world to help you. And she will love you no matter what. She's not afraid to dive deeper into her own soul and she's also not afraid to look like a "gomer" (her word) for the sake of a good laugh. She will cook you dinner, she will bring you your towel in the bathroom when you're showering and you constantly forget it (me), she will vacuum your room (yep), she will let you sleep next to her when you don't feel like sleeping alone (slumber parties are fun), she will have dance parties in the living room with you, and she will leave love-filled cards on your nightstand. She will pray with you when you can't anymore. And believe when you can't anymore. In the last year and a half, she has touched my life in ways others never have. And maybe never will. She is rare. And she is strong. She's a fighter. She doesn't give up. And she keeps the faith.
And I love her.
Tany, I love our morning breakfasts, our breakfasts for dinner, your coffee cake bread and all your other baked goodness! I love our bike rides, our workouts, our mountain climbs, our beach days, our coffee conversations, and our on the floor, kneeled and tear-filled prayers we share. Fighting the Kingdom fight alongside you has been such an honor. I love our dance parties, losing my voice from singing too loud, your cheerful face, our camping trips, and dreaming with you about what adventure to take next. I love laughing with you about things no one else will think are funny and watching 5 episodes in one sitting of Prison-Break on a cloudy day. These only scratch the surface of my gratitude and love for the heart that is you. I feel like I'm writing a love letter to my husband! But hey, we're kind of married in a roommate way. Okay, this just got awkward. I love you...and thank you for being such a loyal, encouraging, and servant-hearted friend. God's face shines through yours daily. I see it. He's in there. And it's beautiful.
