"Do not question in the dark
what God showed you in the light."
When we find ourselves in a dark place...
When it seems as though the visions, dreams, and confirmations God once gifted us are illusive...
Even gone.
When we begin to doubt and question if it was even God in the first place...
When we wonder if we can even hear him anymore...
Or if we ever have.
When we turn our back on the very thing he called us to...
Because in the dark, we get scared.
This is where we prove our faith in him.
Or, where we don't.
Will we still believe when it seems nearly impossible to believe?
When all the numbers and odds are stacked up against us?
It's so dark that we can't see. And the things he once revealed we've left far behind.
Because when we recall them, it seems foolish.
"No, that wasn't God," we think to ourselves. "It couldn't be.
If it was, I wouldn't feel like this now."
Because in the dark, the faithless doubt. They give up. They cop out. They shrink back.
"God surely can't save me from this.
It's too much.
Too hard.
It's not what I expected
I must have been mistaken."
They take themselves out of the fight because the future seems too bleak. They don't have the "eyes to see." (Supernatural eyes transcend the dark. Natural eyes don't. So then how do you ever get the "eyes to see" unless you've journeyed in the dark?)So when the lights go out, they walk out.
And then make excuses as to why.
God can't use the faithless. He'd rather build an army of 300 faithful and fearless warriors than 32,000 faithless warriors.
"Anyone who trembles with fear may leave." (Judges 7)
And the 300 will win.
Why?
Because God keeps his word. He remains true. If he showed you, he'll do it. If he said so, he'll do it. And he will get the glory because of it. But how can he prove himself faithful if you don't have faith in him? Your lack of faith keeps you from receiving the very thing he wants to give.
Victory. Healing. Freedom. Deliverance. Love. Restoration. Redemption. (You name it).
So when it seems impossible, it is then that you must believe. Bank your whole life on him. Dare to demand what only he can give:
The impossible.
If he once showed you something in the light, you must remain believing when all seems lost. God works by and through your faith in him; ESPECIALLY when you can't "see."
Do we as believers not understand that when our circumstances are seemingly hopeless is the exact moment of opportunity that we can prove ourselves faithful?
But the question is: do we? Do you?
If you don't act and pray in faith while in the dark that God will remain faithful to what he once revealed...
well then you might as well leave the army and go home.

This is really good stuff.
Cortney, I have goosebumps. Literal goosebumps. God so spoke this weekend - and I declare the faithful to stand! Love you sweet friend.
